School Board Meeting Minutes

Herman-Norcross School
Thursday, November 19th, 2009 6:30 p.m.
The regular meeting of the School Board of Independent School District 254, Herman-Norcross, was called to order by Chairman Dana Blume. Those members in attendance were Dana Blume, Dan Perry, Bob Kramer, Jamie Lubenow, Hollie Stotesbery and Pat Haney. Others in attendance were: Superintendent Tom Knoll, Principal Jared Petersen, Business Manager Carol Danzeisen, Review Editor Nick Ripperger, Teachers Susan Blume, Jennifer Young and Faith Rudnitski, Students Kasey Rundquist & Sarah Lachowitzer, Parent Lori Ellison and Community Member Mark Oachs.
Bob Kramer made a motion to approve the agenda with modifications and/or additions. Hollie Stotesbery seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Positive comments were shared. They included: very few illnesses have occurred here. The H1N1 vaccine was already made available to our Elementary students. Parent-Teacher Conferences had a good turnout. The Parent Meeting regarding sports pairing went very well.
There were no public comments.
Updated enrollment numbers were reviewed.
Jamie Lubenow made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 22nd meeting, it was seconded by Dan Perry. Motion carried.
The bills from October were approved on a motion by Bob Kramer, seconded by Jamie Lubenow. Motion carried.
Business Manager, Carol Danzeisen, presented her Treasurer's Report to the Board.
Principal Jared Petersen presented his report to the Board. It included a request for Early Out Teacher Workshop days on December 18th, January 22nd, March 26th and April 30th. These Early Outs were approved on a motion made by Bob Kramer, seconded by Pat Haney. Motion carried.
Superintendent Tom Knoll gave a report on negotiations, audit numbers, Serv updates, the Truth-in-Taxation meetings, and the tax shift.
There was no Old Business to discuss.
In New Business, Pat Haney made a motion to approve the FFA members attending a contest in Crookston on December 3 & 4. Jamie Lubenow seconded that motion. Motion carried.
The Board adopted the following policies: 203.5/204/205/206/208/210/ 401/404/404F/407/409/410/412/419/420/515/515F/521/521F/526/603/613/615/616/618/705/707/708/709/709F/720/802/805
on a motion made by Dan Perry, seconded by Bob Kramer. Motion carried.
Cooperative meeting was discussed, along with Parent-Teacher Conferences.
The next board meeting has been set for Thursday, December 17th, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.
There being no further business to discuss, Pat Haney made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Dan Perry. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
