Dell Sporleder
Dell Sporleder passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital-Palliative Care Unit, in Fargo, ND, at the age of 76.
Dell G. Hamele, was born on July 10, 1933, in Norcross, MN. She graduated from Herman High School in 1951. She received her teaching degree from Moorhead State University. She taught elementary school for 10 years in Elbow Lake, Hutchinson, Benson, and Moorhead.
Dell married Paul Sporleder on September 11, 1959, in Norcross. The couple had two children, Sue and Jill. Paul and Dell founded the Spirit & Life Center in 1971, where Dell stood at her husband’s side as a supportive pastor’s wife for 38 years. She had the spirit of giving, loved ministering to people, and loved the Lord, with all her heart.
Dell’s greatest sense of pride and fulfillment came from her role as Nana to her two grandsons, Josh and Nick Rivers. She loved being a wife, homemaker, and mother to her family. Some of her greatest joys were preparing for holiday get-togethers with family. Paul and Dell were grateful to have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past September.
Dell is survived by her husband, Paul of Moorhead; daughters, Sue (Jim) Anderson of Moorhead, and Jill (Thom) Rivers of West Fargo; grandsons, Joshua and Nicholas Rivers; and brother, Duane Hamele of Norcross.
